As everyone knows, the Bihar Assembly elections are about to take place, and all political parties are busy in their campaigns. During this time, Tejashwi Yadav, a member of Rahul Gandhi’s party, allegedly used some abusive words for PM Modi’s mother during the Voter Adhikar Yatra.

This statement created anger among political parties as well as the common people. They became very upset, and therefore the NDA announced a Bihar Bandh.

NDA Announced Bihar Bandh

Because of this controversy, the NDA declared that the entire state of Bihar will observe a bandh on 4th September 2025. BJP and NDA supporters protested strongly, saying that no one has the right to insult Modi’s mother. They added that this is not part of our culture and that everyone’s mother should be respected.

Due to the Bihar Bandh, transportation, markets, schools, and colleges were all closed.

How Did the Controversy Start?

Tejashwi Yadav, during a rally in Darbhanga, used some abusive words. These words were directly pointed towards PM Modi’s mother. Because of Yadav’s remarks, the situation quickly became aggressive everywhere.

The BJP and NDA condemned this statement strongly and said that insulting PM Modi’s mother is equal to insulting every mother in India.

Modi’s Reaction

PM Modi also responded to this matter. He said:
“This insult is not just about my mother, but about every mother of India. Mothers deserve respect and dignity, but some people are abusing them. No one has the right to use such words for any mother.”

NDA party supporters demanded that Tejashwi Yadav should apologize immediately.

Tejashwi Yadav’s Justification After the Criticism

Seeing the issue spreading and people’s anger growing, Tejashwi Yadav clarified his point and said:
“I did not use any abusive words for anyone’s mother. Speaking badly about any mother is a big mistake, and I have not done that. Politics should remain about policies and governance, not about anyone’s personal life.”
