On social media, hashtags like #boycottINDvsPAK were spreading everywhere. The families who lost their members in that attack and some political leaders were asking to cancel this match.

Some sources said that because of this controversy the Indian team also came under a lot of tension and pressure. Players were also understanding the sentiments of the people. A long meeting was also held between the team and Coach Gautam Gambhir where it was explained that players should only focus on their match.

Some politicians believed that this match should not happen but BCCI decided that this is a multinational tournament and India will have to play the match, there is no other way.

This was India’s second match in Asia Cup T20. Their first match was with UAE in which India got a big win.
And this time also India won. Whenever India plays with Pakistan mostly the win is of India and this time also the same happened. India defeated Pakistan.

The decision of not boycotting this match was absolutely correct. Cricket is not only a sport but also an emotion and a sentiment for the fans.
