Because of this shocking incident, travellers became very scared and chaos was created.
What Happened in Uttarakhand Dehradun?
In Dehradun on Monday, 16 September, heavy rainfall started from morning. By evening it increased more. At night, due to heavy rain, cloudburst happened in Dehradun.
Because of this cloudburst and flood, people’s houses got damaged. Roads of Dehradun drowned in water, it did not even look like there was a road, it was looking like a river.
The most loss happened near Fun Valley and Uttarakhand Dental College. There, the bridge going from Dehradun to Haridwar completely collapsed. This bridge was the main route between Dehradun and Haridwar which is now broken.
How Did the Dehradun Bridge Collapse?
Heavy rain and cloudburst happened exactly in the area where this bridge was. There, everywhere was filled with water and the whole area got washed away. When the situation went out of control, the bridge could not bear it and collapsed.
Due to heavy rain earlier, in Panchkula’s Khatoli village also the bridge collapsed in the same way. That bridge was the main way to enter and exit the village. Similarly, this bridge was also the main route between Dehradun and Haridwar.
Impact on People
- Because of the bridge collapse, traffic increased and now people will have to travel from long routes.
- Due to cloudburst, search operation is going on there and the people who are stuck in trouble are being rescued.
- Because of heavy rain, people’s property also got damaged. Everything got washed away in water.
- The tourists there are also facing a lot of trouble.
From reports it has been found that due to the cloudburst in Dehradun, 2 people are missing and their search operation is going on. The condition there is not worth seeing, everyone only should stay safe.
