3. Reduction in Pollution – Since around 30 lakh people live in Meerut, there has been a huge rise in traffic and pollution. But with the Meerut Metro, this problem will also be solved. As more people start using the metro, the use of vehicles will decrease, which will help reduce pollution levels in the city.

Basically, the Meerut Metro will have two main corridors, which will connect the most important parts of the city:
- Partapur to Modinagar – This corridor will mainly cover the industrial areas.
- Shatabdi Nagar to Meerut South – This corridor will cover the educational zones of the city.
