On Meerut’s Mavana Road, a 75-year-old man left his home at 5 a.m. for his morning walk when a speeding pickup car hit him, causing his death on the spot.
This accident happened at the Kaserukheda drain area on Meerut Mavana Road. Eyewitnesses said that the man was walking peacefully in the morning. The road was not crowded, there were only a few vehicles, but suddenly a car came at high speed and hit the man, causing his death.
After hearing the shouting sound, people ran toward the spot. The man was lying there unconscious. People immediately called the police and an ambulance, but it was found that he had already died before they arrived.

What exactly happened?
According to sources, it was found that the victim used to go for a morning walk in that area every day. That day also, he was walking on Mavana Road as part of his regular routine.
There was not much traffic on the road; everything was normal. Around 5:00 a.m., a car coming at high speed hit the man. It is being said that the car driver lost control of the vehicle.
People said that the car hit the victim directly from behind and then ran away from there. After the hit, the man was thrown far away, which caused his instant death.
Driver ran away from the spot
After doing such a big accident, the driver didn’t help the man; instead, he quickly ran away from the spot. But the people present there noted down the car number and informed the police.
Because of the car number, it became easy for the police to catch the driver. The police traced the car number and caught the suspect within a short time. The police seized the car and took the driver into custody.
Who was the victim?
The police found out the victim’s identity. He was a 75-year-old man who lived in the Kaserukheda area. The police immediately informed his family members about the incident.
Hearing the news, the family was completely shocked. Neighbors said that the man was very kind-hearted and calm. He was always active and serious about his health. He went for a morning walk daily, but no one ever thought something like this would happen.
When the family heard the news, they quickly reached the hospital, and after seeing the body of their loved one, they started crying badly.
His son said,
“He always walked very carefully. We never thought that a morning walk could take his life.”
Police investigation
As soon as the information was received, the police quickly reached the accident spot. The body was immediately sent for post-mortem, and a case of hit-and-run was registered against the driver.
Because of the locals’ smartness, the accused was caught soon, as they had already noted down the car number and shared it with the police. The police caught the driver within a few hours.
During custody, the driver said that the car lost control because of sudden brake failure. After this statement, the police are checking whether he is telling the truth or lying.
Locals demand speed breakers
After the incident, the locals of that area demanded to make speed breakers on the road. They said that this road is becoming more and more dangerous, especially during early morning hours.
Because in the morning the roads are empty, people drive their vehicles at very high speed, which causes such accidents. The locals have demanded that the municipal authorities install speed breakers and street lights so that such accidents can be prevented in the future.
They also requested the police to do regular patrolling.
People said that accidents keep happening here again and again. They have complained many times, but no action has been taken yet.
