Because of this accident, the whole of India is in grief. According to reports, Delhi is facing extremely heavy fog, and apart from this accident, many other vehicle accidents have also occurred at the same spot.
Many vehicles were involved in this accident on Yamuna Expressway, including 8 buses and several cars, which collided with each other due to fog. Many people lost their lives in this accident, and many others were injured.

What Happened at Yamuna Expressway?
According to sources, this news is coming that a major accident took place on Yamuna Expressway in Mathura district of Uttar Pradesh. This accident happened early in the morning due to fog, because visibility is very low during early morning hours.
During winter, Delhi experiences heavy fog every year, so much that the entire city gets covered with fog and pollution. Due to this reason, many vehicles were traveling on Yamuna Expressway early in the morning, and because of low visibility, one accident happened after another.
A bus was traveling on the same route, and due to smog, the driver lost control but reduced the speed of the bus. On the other hand, vehicles coming from the front and back were not visible, and this terrible accident occurred.
Both buses collided with each other, and a fire broke out. Many people remained inside the bus when the fire started, due to which they lost their lives. Vehicles were badly damaged, and due to fuel leakage, the fire became even more intense. Rescue operations were also delayed because of fog.

Many People Died in Yamuna Expressway Accident
Due to this bus accident, many people lost their lives. According to reports, it is being heard that 18 people have died so far. Many people were burnt and injured.
Because of severe burns, it is very difficult to identify the dead bodies. Due to the fire, the bodies were completely burnt. Apart from this, drivers and many passengers were also seriously injured.

The families of the victims have been informed, and they have reached hospitals to see their family members. However, identifying the victims whose bodies were burnt has become very difficult.
Cause of Accident
The main reason behind these back-to-back accidents is said to be fog. Fog on highways during winter is very dangerous because nothing is visible on the road due to fog and smog. Especially in the early morning, visibility becomes extremely low.
Some other reasons for this accident are also being reported:
- Over-speeding despite low visibility
- No fog warning system present at the spot
- Drivers were not maintaining safe distance
- Immediate emergency help did not reach the spot
- Heavy traffic movement despite extreme fog
On the other hand, experts say that if speed limits are followed and drivers maintain safe distance, such horrible accidents can be avoided.
Eyewitnesses Statement
People who were present there and witnessed this terrifying accident said that suddenly a very loud crash sound was heard. When the fire started, people tried to break the windows to come out. Everyone was screaming loudly.
Another witness said that due to heavy fog, drivers could not see anything. Because of so much traffic in dense fog, vehicles kept colliding again and again. There was no one to stop them — neither traffic police nor any security.
Many people were crying, and some even made their last phone calls to their families. After that, local villagers ran to help, and by that time, police and ambulances had not yet reached the spot.
Rescue Operation
After receiving the information, police, ambulances, and the fire brigade immediately reached Yamuna Expressway. But according to reports, it took a lot of time for them to arrive due to fog.
As soon as firefighters arrived, they started their work and tried their best to control the fire. Along with this, people trapped inside the bus were also rescued.
Cranes were called to remove damaged vehicles. Medical treatment of injured people was started, and they were immediately taken to hospitals.
After the accident, authorities temporarily closed the expressway so that the area could be cleared and no further accidents would occur.
Response of Government
Considering the Yamuna Expressway bus accident, the government took immediate action. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Shri Yogi Adityanath expressed deep sorrow and ordered compensation for the families of those who lost their lives.
The government ordered a high-level inquiry into the accident. Officials were instructed to increase safety on the expressway. It was ordered to immediately install warning signboards and fog lights on highways.
Police patrolling was increased, and people were advised to avoid travel unless it is very important. An awareness campaign for drivers was also started.
From this terrible accident, we should also understand that we should avoid going out in such situations, and if traveling is necessary, we should drive very safely. Do not over-speed and always maintain distance from other vehicles.
